Foxhall Road NW closed after to crash brings down a utility pole

It is unknown what led up to the crash or the current condition of the driver.

WASHINGTON — Canal Road Northwest at Foxhall Road is closed due to a downed utility pole. 

D.C. Police say Can Road between Foxhall Road and Reservoir Road is closed in both directions. Drivers who usually take that route are being advised to seek an alternate route.

Police say the cause of the downed pole was due to a crash. 

It is unknown what led up to the crash or the current condition of the driver. This is an ongoing investigation, we will keep you updated as more information is released.

MPD says PEPCO is on the scene repairing the damaged utility poles. It is unknown when repairs will be finished and the roads will reopen.
