WASHINGTON — Two men have been arrested and are facing charges after a Northeast D.C. shooting that happened Wednesday evening.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting was reported just after 5 p.m. near the intersection of First and M streets NE, in the NoMa neighborhood.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was conscious and breathing when first responders took him to an area hospital.
A short time later, a second man was connected to the shooting after walking into a nearby medical center.
Through an investigation, detectives determined that the two men were shooting at each other, and they were both placed under arrest the same day.
Police said 23-year-old Donte Brown of Northeast D.C., was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (gun), carrying a pistol without a license, and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. The second person involved, 30-year-old Kevon Austin of Northwest D.C., was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon gun and carrying a pistol without a license.
