WASHINGTON — Detectives with the Metropolitan Police Department have arrested a 19-year-old in connection to a 2022 homicide that left a man dead in Southeast D.C.
On April 12, 2022, around 12:22 p.m., officers responded to Savannah Street Southeast, near 22nd Street Southeast, after a report of a shooting in the area. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from gunshot wound injuries. The victim, who was identified as 32-year-old Clayton Marshall, of Southwest D.C., was taken to a local hospital to be treated, but he later died.
Police said a second man was also found at another local hospital receiving treatment for gunshot wound injuries.
More than a year and a half later, DC Police arrested Derrico Johnson, of Southeast D.C., on Wednesday. He was already in custody at the DC Jail for the crime. He has been charged, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, with first-degree murder while armed.
