BURKE, Va. — It was a day of education, encouragement and inspiration for high school leaders in celebration of Women’s History Month! Lake Braddock Secondary School once again hosted the Professional Women's Conference on March 15.
Known as #ProWo2024, and sponsored by G.I.R.L.s Club, it featured an exceptional lineup of women who were handpicked for their expertise, inspirational stories and their ability to ignite a spark and motivate student leaders.
WUSA9’s Annie Yu served as one of the keynote speakers, along with other guest speakers including Skyla Davidson with the Washington Nationals, Heather Crofford with Northrop Grumman, Carrie Limo with the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Product Support, and Jasmine Oo at Deloitte Digital.
The event also highlighted the importance of networking, public speaking tips, mindfulness, advocacy, entrepreneurship, STEM, environment, politics, and other leadership/career related topics.
Through thought-provoking discussions and Q & A session with each speaker, students were equipped with the knowledge, encouragement and inspiration needed to identify their unique strengths and navigate their professional goals, to succeed in future careers!
We cannot wait to see what the future holds for these bright, young ladies!
