Local nonprofit celebrates Women's History Month with uplifting infomercial

The video features over 450 women, called "sister friends" and it represents a space where women can show up and just be themselves.

WASHINGTON — March is Women's History Month and we are getting uplifted by a local nonprofit that believes everyone deserves equal opportunities to achieve their full potential.

The Paige Group Foundation's founder and CEO Tamika Paige says the organizations mission is to connect people in need to resources, ranging from helping people find jobs and shelter, to help with funerals.

For the last four years, the foundation has chosen an initiative for Women's History Month, like a vision board art collection currently on display at Busboys and Poets, and anthology of stories entitled, "Seeing Herself in Her Story." This year, they have created an informercial all about diversity, equity and inclusion.

"I am she and she is her. You are first to give and first to be forgotten. You give more grace than you'll ever receive, so make room for your resilience," the women say in the video.

We asked Paige what it means for the group.

"It actually means to live in a world with zero discrimination and bias, where everyone is welcomed and included," she said.

The video features over 450 women, called "sister friends" and it represents a space where women can show up and just be themselves.
