Man charged with rape in Woodbridge

The victim told police she had recently met Kanu and that he sexually assaulted her at his home.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — The Prince William County Police Department has made an arrest in a rape case.

On June 28, officers were sent to the 6100 block of Trident Lane in Woodbridge to investigate a sexual assault that was reported to have happened there. When they arrived they located and arrested Abdul Kanu. 

The victim told police she had recently met Kanu and the night before and that while she was at his house he sexually assaulted her. She left the following morning and contacted police to report what had happened. 

Kanu is being charged with rape. His first court appearance has not been set at this time.
