Woman shot in Arlington

The woman was sent to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, investigators say.

ARLINGTON, Va. — Arlington County Police are investigating a shooting that left a woman injured Saturday afternoon. 

At 1 p.m. on Dec. 9, officers were dispatched to the area of S. Kemper Road and S. Oxford Street in Arlington County for a shooting. 

Detectives say a woman was a passenger in a car traveling on S. Oxford Road when four suspects approached on foot and fired their guns, striking the woman and the car. After the shooting, the driver of the victim's car continued to the 4000 block of S. Four Mile Run where officers located them and immediately began to administer aid to the woman shot. 

Police say she suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital for further treatment. 

Investigators say all four suspects were seen fleeing the area in a silver SUV. It is initially believed all four suspects are men described as skinny, wearing dark clothing and facial coverings at the time of the shooting.

The investigation into this shooting is active and ongoing.
