Maryland woman found shot in her home, police say

Police say the woman is recovering in a hospital.

CLINTON, Md. — Police are searching for answers after a woman was found shot in her home late Monday night. The woman was taken to the hospital when police arrived, and is currently recovering.

Officers with the Prince George's Count Police Department were called to the 9200 block of Spring Acres Road in Clinton just before 10 p.m. for a reported shooting. Once officers got to the scene, they found a woman had been shot while inside her home. Investigators are still working to determine where the shots came from, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Police have not identified the woman and the severity of her injuries are not known, however investigators told WUSA9 she is in stable condition.

The shooting investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone who may have information for detectives is urged to call Prince George's County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. Tipsters can remain anonymous. 

Additional details have not yet been made public. WUSA9 will update this story as we learn more.
