WASHINGTON — A 9-year-old is facing Attempted Armed Robbery charges in D.C.
Detectives from D.C. Police have arrested a child and a teen who attempted to rob a woman in the 500 block of 10th Street, Northeast.
On Friday, January 26 at 12:40 a.m., the two boys approached the victim while she was walking home. One of the robbers hit the victim in the stomach and tried to grab her purse. In an attempt to fight back, the victim pepper sprayed one of the suspects.
Frightened and caught by surprise, the second robber pulled out a knife and lunged at the victim multiple times. The victim was able to escape and call 911.
Officers arrested both a 9-year-old and a 13-year-old and charged them with Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery While Armed (Knife).
