WASHINGTON — Three teenagers are under arrest for their alleged involvement in an armed carjacking in Mt. Vernon Square.
On Thursday, March 28, at 11:38 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of M Street, Northwest, for a report of an armed carjacking. Once at the scene, officers learned that one of the suspects walked up to the driver side window, pointed a gun, and demanded the victim got out of the car. The victim complied and all three suspects fled the scene in the stolen car.
Officers canvassed the area shortly after, along with MPD's helicopter.
All three suspects were eventually located and arrested.
A gun was recovered on the scene.
Police charged a 15-year-old boy, of Northeast, D.C., a 17-year-old boy, and a 16-year-old boy, both of Northwest, D.C., with armed carjacking for their alleged involvement.
