Teen arrested in connection to an October shooting in DC that left 3 hospitalized

On Wednesday, the Criminal Apprehension Unit arrested a 17-year-old boy of Northeast.

WASHINGTON — A 17-year-old boy faces charges in connection to an October shooting in Southwest D.C. that sent three people to area hospitals. Police arrested the teen on Wednesday for assault with a deadly weapon and additionally charged him with armed carjacking for an incident that occurred May 30.

On Monday, October 2, at 8:30 p.m., officers responded to a call for service when they heard gunshots in the 2100 block of Second Street SW. At the scene, police found two men and a juvenile suffering from gunshot wounds. All three victims were taken to area hospitals for treatment. An investigation determined that two parties shot at one another. 

On Wednesday, the Criminal Apprehension Unit arrested a 17-year-old boy for his alleged involvement in the shooting. He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and armed carjacking in connection to another case.

This case was investigated by the Criminal Apprehension Unit, First District Detectives Unit, and the Carjacking Task Force. 

This is the second arrest made in connection to the shooting.
