Man hospitalized in Southeast DC shooting

The shooting happened around 8 p.m. in the 1800 block of Gainesville Street SE, police said.

WASHINGTON — A man is in the hospital after he was shot at least twice in Southeast D.C., police said.

Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 1800 block of Gainesville Street SE for a report of a shooting, according to a watch commander from MPD's 7th District. When officers arrived on scene, they found the man shot.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. Details about the victim have not been released by the police and his condition at the hospital is not known at this time.

Investigators are still working to figure out exactly what led up to the shooting. No arrests have been made in this case.
