Retail theft ring busted after spree in Fairfax County, police say

Police linked the crew to multiple thefts over a four-month period in Fairfax County. During which, $27,000 worth of merchandise was stolen.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — Members of an alleged out-of-state retail theft ring have been arrested after being busted in Fairfax County.

On May 11, just after 1 p.m., detectives were made aware of a retail theft crew at Fair Oaks Mall. Police say after stealing from the mall, the crew traveled to Tysons Corner Center on Chain Bridge Road where they stole even more merchandise. 

Detectives located the crew and took two of its alleged members into custody. One suspect ran away from police. A search of their car revealed over $15,000 worth of stolen merchandise taken from the two malls. 

Police linked the crew to multiple thefts over a four-month period in Fairfax County. During which, $27,000 worth of merchandise was stolen.

The suspects arrested in part of the ring and their charges are as follows;

  • Oscar William Laverde Laverde, 56, of New York was charged with four counts of Grand Larceny, four counts of Conspiracy to Commit Larceny, four counts of Larceny with Intent to Sell, and Possession of a Burglarious Tool. He is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
  • Sindia Noguera, 43, of New Jersey was charged with five counts of Grand Larceny, five counts of Conspiracy to Commit Larceny, five counts of Larceny with Intent to Sell, and Possession of a Burglarious Tool. She is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
  • Claudia Suarez, 45, of New York was unable to be located, but detectives have obtained warrants for Conspiracy to Commit Larceny. Additional warrants will be sought for Suarez.
