Accokeek triple shooting leaves 2 men dead

So far, no arrests have been made.

ACCOKEEK, Md. — Police in Prince George's County are investigating a shooting in Accokeek that left two people dead and another person wounded.

According to the Prince George's County Police Department, officers were called to the 7000 block of Berry Road just before midnight Thursday for the report of a shooting. Once on scene, officers discovered two men had been shot. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene. Police have identified the men as Sheldon Proctor and Patrick Savoy. A third man took himself to the hospital with a gunshot wound. He is said to be in stable condition.

Detectives were on scene in the parking lot of the Manokeek Village Center in the early morning hours of Friday, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. So far, no arrests have been made.

Witness Tammala Swan said Proctor was her brother. According to her, the shooting took place at a car show event in the parking lot. She told WUSA9 that the car exhibit is a weekly occurrence in that parking lot, and described it as family-friendly. She said it was not like other car meetups WUSA9 has reported on in the past.

Other witnesses estimated about 500 people were gathered before shots were fired.

She said Proctor was just at another car exhibit over the weekend. She said her brother was already paralyzed from the chest down, and believes he was trying to get away from the violence when he was shot.

"He loved the world. He loved everybody," Swan said of her brother. "This senseless killing has got to stop."

Swan asks anyone who may know anything to contact police. Anyone with information should call Prince George's County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. The police department is offering a $25,000 reward for the tip that leads to an arrest and indictment in this case.
