Man found shot to death in SE DC

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the shooter or shooters involved in the man's killing.

WASHINGTON — Metropolitan Police are investigating the shooting death of a man in the 4400 block of Falls Terrace in southeast Washington, D.C. early Saturday morning.

According to police, the man was found dead around 1:10 a.m. with multiple gunshot wounds by responding officers from D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services. The man's body was transported to the Chief Medical Examiner's office. 

Police have identified the man as Willie Spain, Jr., 40, of Southeast D.C. 

Police are offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for this and every homicide committed in D.C.

 Anyone with information on this case is asked to call police at 202-727-9099. Anonymous tips can also be sent to the department via the text tip line by texting 50411.

In November, D.C. surpassed 200 deaths due to homicide for 2021.
