Police search for suspect who hit woman with brick 20 times

The woman suffered a broken eye socket, broken cheekbone, facial swelling and severe bleeding from the beating.

WASHINGTON — Police are asking for the public's help identifying a suspect they claim hit a woman 20 times with a brick last month.

According to D.C. Police, the attack happened in an alley in the 200 block of Naylor Road in Southeast. Officers were called to the area just after 2:30 p.m. on November 13.

When officers arrived, they found a woman, unconscious and barely breathing. She was bleeding heavily from her face. She was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

According to the police report, a witness told officers they saw the woman get into an argument with a man in the 2200 block of Minnesota Avenue. The witness claimed the unknown man said "come outside, come outside," in an aggressive manner. The witness told a store clerk in the area to call 9-1-1 and left.

Police believe the suspect attacked the woman with a brick, hitting her 20 times and then stomping on her head. The woman suffered a broken eye socket, broken cheekbone, facial swelling and severe bleeding from the beating.

A nearby camera captured images of who police believe is the suspect.
