Prince William County Police identify man wanted for allegedly shooting 18-year-old woman to death in Manassas

Detectives learned that Paz and Lizama knew one another and planned to meet at the park where she was found.

MANASSAS, Va. — Prince William County Police are searching for a man accused of fatally shooting a young woman in Manassas. 

German Joseth Torres Lizama, 20, is believed to be connected to the death of Ashlin Yamileth Paz. 

According to police, officers were called to the area of Pineview Road and Cregger Lane on July 18 to investigate a shooting. When they arrived officers found 18-year-old Paz shot in a nearby wooded area. 

First responders pronounced her dead in the wooded area. 

Police said a blue Hyundai Elantra with Virginia plates was seen leaving the area shortly after the shooting. A few weeks later, Lizama was identified as a suspect in Paz's death.  

Detectives learned that Paz and Lizama knew one another and planned to meet at the park where she was found. Investigators claim the two got into some sort of fight during their meetup and Lizama shot Paz.

The blue Hyundai that police were searching for was later recovered in Fairfax County empty. Police have been searching for Lizama, but have been unsuccessful. 

Lizama is described as a man, 5-foot-4, 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, tattoos on both hands and stomach area.
