13-year-old arrested for carjacking in DC, police search for second suspect

The 13-year-old placed under arrest is being charged with Unarmed Carjacking.

WASHINGTON — A teen is under arrest for carjacking in Northeast, D.C. 

On Tuesday, police say two teens surrounded a victim in the 900 block of Rhode Island Avenue, demanded his car keys and made him get out of his car. The teens then drove off in the victim’s car, police say. 

Officers found the stolen car a short time later along First Street in Northwest. Officers saw one of the teens getting out of the car and placed him under arrest. The second teen ran away. 

The 13-year-old arretsed is being charged with Unarmed Carjacking. 

Police are still searching for the second teenager.
