1 dead in DC shooting near Sycamore and Oak shopping center

Police have not made any arrests in this case so far.

WASHINGTON — Police are still searching for suspects in a shooting that left a man dead near the Sycamore and Oak shopping center in Southeast D.C. Sunday evening. 

Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the 1200 block of Oak Drive Southeast for a reported shooting just before 6 p.m. When officers got to the scene, they found a man shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police later identified the man killed as 32-year-old D'Andre Dixon of Southeast. 

Homicide detectives are searching for two suspects in this case. They did not offer a detailed description of who they were looking for. So far, no arrests have been made in this case.

Investigators are still working to learn what led up to the shooting, but ShotSpotter technology detected four sounds of gunshots in the area. The investigation is active and ongoing.
