MONROVIA, Md. — A 68-year-old man is facing charges in both Maryland and Virginia after police say a week-long joint investigation uncovered crimes against children.
Joseph Muir Osborne, of Monrovia, was arrested Wednesday by police at his home. In Fairfax County, he's facing 25 counts of distribution of child pornography and one count of distribution of bestiality. In Frederick County, he's also been charged with 24 counts of possession of child pornography.
Police say Osborne preyed on children online and unknowingly told an undercover detective about conversations he had with a minor in Maryland. He is currently being held in Frederick County and is awaiting extradition to Fairfax County.
The investigation is still ongoing, and Fairfax detectives are asking anyone who has information on these or similar incidents to contact their Major Crimes Bureau.
