PASADENA, Md. — A Maryland man is facing multiple felony charges related to child sex crimes.
On Friday, Maryland State Police arrested Kenneth J. Schneider, 34 in connection to soliciting, promoting/distributing child pornography and displaying obscene material to a minor.
In June, special agents from the Homeland Security Investigations office received information on a case regarding a child who attempted suicide. Upon further investigation, officers learned that the child was being sexually extorted.
On Friday, agents from Homeland Security, officers with the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit, and Anne Arundel County Police served Schneider with a search warrant and placed him under arrest.
Schneider is being held at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center without bond. Authorities are still investigating this case. There is no word on if they are searching for other victims.
