Man wanted for deadly carjacking in Prince William Co. arrested in Virginia Beach

The victim was reportedly run over by his own car as the carjacker drove away.

DUMFRIES, Va. — A man was arrested in Virginia Beach nearly a week after a deadly carjacking outside a Dumfries apartment complex.

According to the Prince William County Police Department, 41-year-old Keith Anthony McBride is accused of carjacking Jose Vasquez Galvan outside of the Oasis at Montclair Apartments on July 20.

During the carjacking, police say Galvan grabbed onto the gold Lexus SUV as McBride was driving in reverse. McBride allegedly crashed into another car, reversed again, and ran over Galvan. Police say he then drove away, leaving Galvan behind. The 37-year-old would later die from his injuries at an area hospital.

Police released surveillance photos of the man they believed to have been behind the deadly carjacking and officially named him Friday. McBride was arrested by Virginia Beach City Police six days later.

Police say it appears McBride and Galvan did not know each other before the deadly carjacking.

McBride has been charged with felony murder, felony hit and run, and grand larceny auto.
