24-year-old man shot, killed in Northeast DC

Police are on the lookout for a dark gray SUV in connection to this deadly shooting.

WASHINGTON — Police are investigating after a man was shot to death in Southeast D.C. on Tuesday. Traffic was shut down in the nearby area immediately following the shooting.

At noon, the Metropolitan Police Department got a report of a shooting in the area of 41st Street and East Capitol Street, Southeast. Responding officers found a man who had been shot inside a car in the 4100 block of East Capitol Street, Northeast. It was initially reported that the man was found not conscious and not breathing. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later identified by police as 24-year-old Raequan Williamson of D.C.

Police are on the lookout for a dark gray SUV in connection to this deadly shooting. A witness told officers that the victim was found inside a car with multiple gunshot wounds.

MPD has declared this case a homicide investigation. Police have not released any information on possible suspects or persons of interest in connection to this shooting.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
