ALEXANDRIA, Va. — A Virginia man is headed back to prison for having a gun on him while shoplifting from a department store in McLean. Najee O. Lewis, aka Bebo, 27, is set to serve three years for being a felon in possession of a gun and ammunition, authorities announced Wednesday.

On Dec. 3, 2023, employees of the department store noticed Lewis taking items without paying for them. After being caught, employees contacted the Fairfax County Police Department. Officers responded and took a loaded gun from the waistband of Lewis' pants. The gun had a round in the chamber and 22 rounds in an extended magazine.

Investigators say Lewis was previously convicted in Prince William County of two separate felony robberies that occurred within two days of each other. He was sentenced to prison for both robberies. In May 2018, Lewis was released from prison and began a 10-year supervised probation period. Just four months after his release, while still on probation in Virginia, a music video showing Lewis with a stolen gun in hand was posted to YouTube. He was then convicted of illegally having a gun, violating his probation.

As a convicted felon, Lewis is not legally allowed to have a gun or ammunition.
