Maryland man faces life in prison after being convicted of sexually abusing teen

If he were to be released, he would be required to register as a sex offender for life.

MARYLAND, USA — A 61-year-old Maryland man has been found guilty of sexually abusing a teenager. Gary Bellinger was convicted Tuesday of one count of first-degree child sexual abuse and one count of second-degree child sexual abuse.

Sentencing for Bellinger is scheduled for August 30.

According to evidence presented at trial, in 2015, Bellinger sexually abused a 15-year-old girl.

He faces life in prison for the charges, and if released, will have to register as a sex offender for life.
