WASHINGTON — A Maryland man is facing charges in connection to a string of robberies of D.C. convenience stores. where police say he used a fire extinguisher to distract clerks while grabbing cash.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, 42-year-old Raham Barnes, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland has been connected to four of the robberies.
In each of the robberies, police say Barnes sprayed the workers with a fire extinguisher before stealing money from the register and running away. He has been connected to the following robberies:
- 7-Eleven on Hawaii Avenue, NE on Monday, April 15
- 7-Eleven on 3rd Street, NE on Wednesday, April 17
- 7-Eleven on Columbia Road, NW on Thursday, April 18
- 7- Eleven 14th Street, NW on Tuesday, April 24
Barnes was arrested on Wednesday in Prince George's County for unrelated crimes. He will be extradited to D.C. to face charges in connection to the above robberies.
