LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — A man from Prince George's County was arrested and charged with attempted murder for breaking into a home and stabbing two people over the weekend.
According to authorities, St. Mary's County deputies responded to the 21000 block of Ronald Drive in Lexington Park around 5 a.m. on Saturday for a report of a stabbing. While on their way, the deputies learned that two people had been stabbed by someone they knew.
The victims told the deputies that 28-year-old Terek Demaury Ross of Prince George's County had broken into their home and stabbed a woman multiple times. The woman was able to get away and call 911 for help. Ross then attacked another woman in the home, stabbing her multiple times as well. The second victim ran to a neighbor's house and called 911.
Both women were taken to nearby hospitals, where they are currently listed in stable condition, but the severity of their injuries is not known.
Meanwhile, Ross stole one of victim's cars and left.
St. Mary's County deputies made other jurisdictions aware of what was going on, and told them to be on the lookout for the stolen car. Calvert County Sheriff's Office deputies spotted Ross driving on Maryland Route 4. He was stopped and taken into custody, deputies said.
Ross was transferred to a detention facility in Leonardtown, where he has been charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of attempted second degree murder and two counts of first-degree assault, among other charges.
