Prince George's County Police search for shooter who killed man in Takoma Park

The victim has been identified as 40-year-old Murat Pacal.

TAKOMA PARK, Md. — The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a man dead in Takoma Park

On Tuesday, officers responded to calls of a shooting just after 3 a.m. They arrived at the 6700 block of New Hampshire Avenue where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim has been identified as 40-year-old Murat Pacal. Unfortunately, life-saving measures could not help Pacal’s condition, he was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Detectives have not released any information leading up to the shooting. As of now, there is no word on a suspect or motive. 

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered to anyone with information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
