'I just pray that the police find them' | Family of teen shot and killed in Prince George's County want answers

The family wants to know what led up to the death of Kesean Hunt and when someone will face charges.

LARGO, Md. — WUSA9 is hearing from the family of a teenager who was shot and killed in Prince George's County over the weekend.

“I broke down and kind of cried and stuff,” said Grandfather Thomas Robinson. “It’s like damn, Kesean why you’d have to? Because he ain’t never do nothing to nobody.”

Thomas Robinson just wants to know; why? Why would someone kill his grandson? He is still trying to wrap his mind around the death of 16-year-old Kesean Hunt.

“It blew me, you know. I just ‘well he is going to be alright,’ Robinson said. “Then 15 minutes later I got a phone call that he died and that really… I got chills and just butterflies in my stomach. It was like ‘How? What went wrong?’”

Police say they found Hunt with a gunshot wound in the 700 block of Harry S Truman Drive in Largo Saturday night. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Robin says Hunt was supposed to be going to the movies with friends that night and his life was taken too soon. The 16-year-old just celebrated a birthday in September and moved from Accokeek to Largo six months ago.

“He didn’t even get to know people, he just moved there,” Robinson said.

Detectives are working to determine a motive and say they have identified and spoken to several involved individuals. They are also working with the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office regarding this, at this time nobody's been charged.

“I just pray that the police find them, catch them, lock ‘em up,” Robinson said.

He hopes someone who knows about the death of Hunt will speak up. As police investigate, Robinson wants people to remember his Grandson for his outgoing personality.

“Young guy that, he just smiled all the time, he was just happy,” Robinson said.

Police are asking anyone with information to come forward in this case. Meanwhile, the family says they just want anyone involved to face charges. They also say they haven't been able to identify or see Hunt's body.
