WASHINGTON — DC Police have arrested a woman accused of carjacking someone during what was supposed to be a Facebook Marketplace transaction.
According to police, on May 15, the victim agreed to meet up with 20-year-old She’ri Mykalie Bell in the 100 block of Kenilworth Ave. NE just before 10:30 p.m. to sell her a Honda Civic.
When the victim arrived, he got out of the car. Police say, Bell then asked him for the keys so she could start the car. The victim walked to the front of the car to open the hood. Bell then took out a gun and pointed it at the victim while revving the engine.
The victim told police he was scared that Bell was going to run him over, so he moved out of the way. Bell drove off heading towards I-295 southbound.
On Tuesday, Bell was arrested and charged with armed carjacking. During the time of her arrest, police say Bell had a gun, it is unclear if it was the same one used during the carjacking.
As a result, Bell is being charged with carrying a pistol without a license, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of an unregistered firearm, and possession of unregistered ammunition.
