WASHINGTON — Police continue to investigate a shooting that sent a man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries during D.C. rush hour Tuesday. The shooting happened just after 4 p.m. at the intersection of Q Street and Connecticut Avenue Northwest. That's right by the Dupont Circle Metro station.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a man shot inside a car. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Police have not given an update about the man's current condition.
During the course of their investigation police discovered a vehicle of interest on surveillance video. Detectives with MPD's National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) Investigations Unit, which includes agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, are seeking the public’s help to find the car seen in the surveillance images below:
A motive for the shooting still has not been determined. Police are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case.
