Missing 8-year-old girl found safely in DC

Metropolitan Police investigated the case as a parental kidnapping.

WASHINGTON — Update: The missing 8-year-old girl found has been found safely.

D.C. Police need help finding a missing 8-year-old girl. 

On Monday, D.C. Police issued a critical missing alert for a girl. Police say she was reported missing around at 5:15 p.m. after she was last seen along the 4600 block of E Street, Northeast. 

She is described by police as being about 3-foot-11, weighing 70 pounds, and having brown hair and brown eyes. 

She was last seen wearing a green shirt, navy blue shorts, and green socks. 

Just before 9 p.m., police said she was spotted in the 4100 block of Benning Road, Northeast and are investigating this as a parental kidnapping case.
