MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — A 12-year-old boy has been accused of breaking into several car dealerships in Rockville and Bethesda.

Montgomery County Police believe he stole a vehicle from the Porsche dealership in Rockville Pike on Sept. 3. The vehicle was found around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night and the boy was returned to his family.

Police suspect the same child may be responsible for a series of burglaries at luxury car dealerships, including BMW, Audi, Porsche, and Jaguar, on August 16, 23, 24, 26, 27, and September 2. While police have not disclosed specific details about what was stolen or if there was any damage, the boy’s alleged actions have raised concerns.

In Maryland, children under 13 cannot be charged with a crime, so no formal charges have been filed. The case remains under investigation as authorities piece together the full extent of the incidents.
