WASHINGTON — Police are asking for the public's help identifying and locating suspects involved in an armed kidnapping and robbery that lasted eight hours on Sunday.
At 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, police say the victim arranged to meet with the suspect through social media to sell shoes to the suspect. Both the suspect and victim agreed to meet at 25th and L streets, Northwest.
Police say when the victim went to his car trunk to retrieve the shoes, at least three suspects surrounded him, grabbing the victim and forcing him into a dark colored car.
An accomplice followed in the victim's vehicle. The victim told police the suspects put duct tape over his mouth, zip tied his wrists, and beat him as they travelled back to his home in McLean, Virginia.
In McLean, they went into the victim's home and robbed him.
"They took several pair of high end shoes and several thousands of dollars," explained DC Police Captain Christopher Dorsey.
Police say the victim was then driven 23 miles to Gethsemane Way in Capitol Heights, Maryland where he was put back in his own vehicle. The suspects then drove off.
The victim was then able to contact the Prince George’s County Police Department just before 8:30 a.m.
The suspects were captured by surveillance cameras and can be seen in the photos below:
This armed kidnapping and robbery is under investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department with the assistance of the Fairfax County Police Department and the Prince George’s County Police Department.
