WASHINGTON — Police are investigating the latest report of theft at a Lululemon store in Northwest D.C.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the theft happened at the 14th Street, Northwest retail store on Saturday.
Officers say the suspects walked into the store and stole merchandise before leaving in a silver Mitsubishi SUV. The vehicle was last seen with Maryland tag 5EP8455. Police released photos of the wanted suspects and vehicle on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday evening.
In the police incident report, investigators say three people walked into the store and placed the stolen merchandise into shopping bags. A fourth person later joined before the group left.
A worker reported one of the suspects tried to come back into the store after leaving with the stolen items, but the doors had already been locked.
The store has said they wil close the impacted location this Sunday, but has not clarified whether it is directly tied to theft.
This was not the last time thieves would target this exact Lululemon location. Four days later, police say a group of four people robbed multiple Lululemon stores in just two hours, including the 14th St. NW location. Those same thieves also hit locations on M St. and F St., where a man had gotten away with $11,000 worth of merchandise just a day earlier.
Police have not said if the same people are believed to be behind the robberies.
At least one arrest has been made. Avante Demarco Greene, a 23-year-old man from Northwest was charged with first-degree theft in the following incidents:
- July 10: in the 1000 block of F Street, Northwest
- July 12: in the 3200 block of M Street, Northwest
- July 16: in the 1000 block of F Street, Northwest
