Friendly pigeon gets adopted by New Jersey woman | Get Uplifted

The woman drove over 200 miles to adopt her.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — Remember that persistent pigeon that was looking for a home? Well, we have a pretty cool update on that uplifting story.

Valley the pigeon spent a good deal of her time hanging around at the entrance of the Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center in Derwood, before carrying herself inside with staffers. They decided she would be better off living indoors and she was put up for adoption. And Valley's efforts worked.

The friendly pigeon has now found her forever home with a New Jersey mother named Keryn Rosenberger who drove more than 200 miles to adopt her. WUSA9's partners at the Washington Post reported that Valley sat in the passenger's seat and on Rosenberger's head on the way home before cozying up in one of her son's car seats for the three-hour ride.

And if you are wondering, Rosenberger says that Valley wears diapers made especially for pigeons and does have a harness and leash for walks.
