DERWOOD, Md. — It's an adoption story like no other, and it is right out of Montgomery County.
A pigeon named Valley is determined to find her forever home... inside of a home. The Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center posted an adorable story on its Facebook page about her.
According to the shelter, Valley was waiting patiently outside of the adoption center in Derwood for a while when she eventually caught a ride inside with a staff member who proceeded to put her back outside. In fact, every time the staff tried to put her out, she would find her way back in on someone's head, shoulder or coat.
Ultimately the persistent pigeon's patience paid off. The workers decided that Valley's connection to humans means she needs to be paired in a home and you guessed it – now she is up for adoption.
If this is just the companion you've been looking for, staffers at the shelter say she is friendly, loyal and super cute.
