MARYLAND, USA — A Maryland woman's dream of more than 50 years in the making has become a reality thanks to a surprise gift from her grandson.
Back in 1972, Barbara Riceo wrote a children's book based on the true story of a poverty stricken little girl she met while living in Appalachia. Back then, Riceo sent her book to several publishers, but all she got back were rejections. She eventually gave up ever seeing her work in print.
That's where her grandson comes in with an epic surprise. His name is Chad Cooper and he works in design and production in New York City.
Cooper took his grandmother's manuscript, illustrations, and turned it into her book titled "More, More, More."
He surprised his grandmother with a finished copy on Christmas and her reaction was priceless.
