Loudoun County Animal Services waives all fees in 'clear the shelter' event | Get Uplifted

The event is running through Sunday. The fees are waived for all of their available pets — including cats, dogs, rabbits, small pets such as gerbils and livestock.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. — We are getting uplifted this Thursday by inspiring you to help some animals in need.

If you've been dreaming of adding a furry friend to your family, then there's no time like the present. Loudoun County Animal Services is hosting a tail-wagging deal this week to help find some of the dozens of animals a nice, loving furever home.

From now until Sunday, LCAS is hosting a fee-waived, pet adoption event in partnership with the nationwide "clear the shelters" adoption initiative.

The fees are waived for all of their available pets — including cats, dogs, rabbits, small pets such as gerbils and even livestock.

So far this year, LCAS has seen a 20% increase in the number of animals coming into the shelter, and to make matters worse, a recent influx in dogs has forced them to set up temporary kennels to provide extra housing.

Whether you're looking for someone to cuddle with or a jogging buddy to keep you fit, the Loudoun County Animal Shelter has got you covered.

And if you can't get to Loudoun County, the next clear the shelter event kicks off tomorrow at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter and runs throughout the weekend.
