CHANTILLY, Va. — Fairfax County Police went above and beyond to help a neighbor in need on Tuesday. The police department said on social media that their service never stops. That has us feeling uplifted.
Officers were called to a home in the Chantilly area Tuesday morning for a report of a home break-in. When they arrived on scene, they found a broken window. The 93-year-old homeowner was shaken, but otherwise OK. Police say after an investigation they arrested someone in connection to the break-in. Police did not identify the person arrested, or say what charges they face.
But then, after the arrest, the officers turned into handymen. Officers were seen in photos working to clean up the house and board up the broken window. The officers went to a Lowe's nearby to get materials, which the hardware store handed over at no cost.
Great job, officers!
