Commanders players surprise patients, staff at Children's National Hospital | Get Uplifted

Players Ben Sinnott, Chris Paul, Brandon Coleman and Colson Yankoff visited to help launch their "Crucial Catch" program to detect cancer early.

WASHINGTON — Some heavy hitters in the sports world coming together to make a positive impact on our community's health and wellness are getting us uplifted.

The Washington Commanders, the NFL and the American Cancer Society have all joined together for a program called "Crucial Catch." It's all about encouraging early detection of cancer through screenings and other means.

To help launch Crucial Catch month, Commanders players Ben Sinnott, Chris Paul, Brandon Coleman and Colson Yankoff visited Children's National Hospital in D.C.

There, they met with young patients and the staff and dropped off gift bags.

They also gathered at the hospital's in-house studio to take questions from patients who could not meet them in person.

A great day, and a great way to make a real impact in the lives of our neighbors.
