Die-hard Commanders fan couple witnesses Hail Mary win on 10th anniversary | Get Uplifted

The McFarlands got married in matching team jerseys on Oct. 27, 2014.

GREATER LANDOVER, Md. — Commanders nation is still on a high from another win on Sunday, this time over the New York Giants.

But we’re getting uplifted by one very special couple that is still thinking about attending that amazing game against the Chicago Bears, the "Hail Mary" game.

That game was on Oct. 27 and die-hard Commanders fans Atif and Tiesha McFarland were right there to witness the "Miracle in Maryland" on their 10th anniversary.

Not only was it their exact 10 year anniversary, but when they got married on Oct. 27, 2014, they did it in matching team jerseys.

For this couple that says for them it's "God, family and football," it was a full circle moment.

The McFarlands say for them, it was never about wins or losses, but about endurance, faith, growth and perseverance. They never gave up on each other or their team.

"The greatest day in Commanders — not Redskins — Commanders history, and we were here to witness it on our anniversary," Atif said on social media.

Of course Atif and Tiesha couldn't have known the amazing play they would witness, but they say they are grateful for making their 10th anniversary even more memorable, and they hope their story inspires, encourages and uplifts Commanders nation and beyond.
