American University Chorus hosts concert to bring people peace following the election

All of the songs in the "The Tree of Peace" concert center around the themes of peace, tranquility and nature.

WASHINGTON — Emotions are still running high for many in light of the 2024 election, but today we're getting uplifted by a local group's efforts to spread peace into our community through song.

This weekend, the American University Chorus is hosting a concert called "The Tree of Peace.” All the songs center around the themes of peace, tranquility and nature, in the wake of the election.

It's meant to act as a musical sanctuary, and allow those feeling anxious or stressed a moment of relaxation and calm.

The concert is Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m. at the Katzen Art Center's recital center on American University's campus.

Tickets are available here on the school's website. General public tickets cost $15 and only $10 for alumni.
