Rock N Roll Half Marathon returns to DC this weekend

Another popular event is making a comeback following pandemic cancellations.

WASHINGTON — Runners and rockers rejoice. The popular Rock N Roll Half Marathon and 5K will return to D.C. this weekend after it was put on pause because of the pandemic.

The 5K kicks things off Saturday at 8 a.m. at RFK Stadium. The half marathon follows at 8:30 a.m. It takes off down the National Mall, goes around downtown and ends in an electric finish and post-race concert featuring a DJ and popular cover band 7 Deadlies at RFK Stadium.

There will also be bands and music along the course as you run. It wouldn't be a Rock N Roll run without some tunes.

A full list of bands performing along the route can be found here.

The race hasn't happened in the District for two years because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It's just another way D.C. is returning to normal.

Registration for the 2021 races have closed, but registration for the 2022 edition is already open
