FULL FORECAST: Weather Impact Alert for potential travel impact from Monday PM storms
Timeline
Monday 3 p.m.
A few showers and thunderstorms will develop and move from west to east, first through Loudoun, Fauquier and Frederick County as schools are letting out across some portions of Northern Virginia.
Monday 6 p.m.
An isolated shower or storm may impact the evening commute but most areas will stay dry.
Monday 9 p.m.
Any rain and storms will move east of the Bay and diminish by about 8 or 9 p.m.
Most locales will pick up an inch or less of rain, so although there may be some wet roads for afternoon and evening travels, flooding doesn't look like a big threat.
Severe Threat
The Storm Prediction Center has placed the DMV in a level 1 out of 5 risk for severe weather. As a final cold front moves through the DMV, scattered severe thunderstorms with damaging wind as the greatest threat seems to be most likely.
