WASHINGTON — Several tornadoes were confirmed to have touched down on Wednesday wreaking havoc across the DMV.
Our viewers helped us get a better sense of the impact in our area by sharing their own photos and videos.
In fact, our Weather Watchers helped us confirm when tornadoes were on the ground, and one storm spotter was responsible for the National Weather Service extending the tornado warning, after he captured imagery of a funnel cloud just abot to touch down near Poolesville.
The impact of these tornadoes and severe storms is still being felt across the area. Many were injured as a result, homes were destroyed, and damages are in the millions.
