'No major damage, injuries' as Elsa rolls through southern Maryland

St. Mary's County saw multiple Tornado Warnings during the late-night hours of Thursday. But, the damage was small as of early Friday morning.

ST. MARY'S COUNTY, Md. — St. Mary's County declared a State of Emergency ahead of Tropical Storm Elsa's arrival, but was spared from the worst of the storm. While multiple tornado Warnings were issued in the county and its neighbor Calvert County, only some minor flooding was reported in the region as the storm passed through.

A Flash Flood Warning was issued for St. Mary's County late Thursday into Friday as the storm made its way out of Maryland and up the East Coast. All flood watches and warnings have since been lifted or canceled as of Friday morning.

The most notable issue was at the intersection of MD 5 at MD 246, where several inches of standing water made travel challenging.
