HAGERSTOWN, Md. — Snowy, slippery streets caused multiple accidents in Washington County Sunday night.

Firefighters said they saw at least five accidents in the span of half an hour.

The Sheehy Weather Explorer team stumbled upon a slideoff along Halfway Boulevard in Hagerstown a little before 8 p.m.

The accident had just happened.

The 17-year-old driver climbed out of the front seat, physically unscathed, but visibly shaken.

Tears were streaming down her face.

The ambulance arrived shortly after to make sure to check the teen driver for injuries.

"We've now been on at least four or five car accidents. We're just asking people to slow down. The road conditions have severely deteriorated since earlier today. The sun dropped out of the sky, and it's laying on the roads now, so it's changing the road conditions, and people just need to slow down," said Deputy Chief Jerry Keplinger with the Funkstown Volunteer Fire Department.

The young woman's father quickly showed up to take her home as the car waited to be towed away.
