Tracking snowplows in the DMV

Wintry weather is expected continue through the afternoon on Friday.

WASHINGTON — Snow is falling in the DMV, and crews are working to clear the roads.

The wintry weather is set to continue through the afternoon, and Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings are in place across the DMV until 7 p.m. Here how to track snowplow activity near you in D.C., Maryland and Virginia.

D.C.

The District tracks snowplows throughout the city, specifying how many hours ago a plow was active on a street using a color-coded map.

Maryland

The Maryland Department of Transportation tracks plows throughout the state on its website.

Virginia

The Virginia Department of Transportation updates its website with active snowplows. Arlington County also has a map tracking plow activity.
