WASHINGTON D.C., DC — Has D.C. seen the last bit of snow for this season?
Though the chances of snow decrease significantly as we move toward the end of February, winter weather in March and even April is not off the table,
March
The last time we saw accumulating snowfall in March was in 2018. D.C. picked up 4.1 inches on March 21. When we look at the data over the last 10 years March has been the snowiest month of the year four times, most recently in 2018. Over the last 30 years, NOAA says that D.C.'s average snowfall increased nearly 50%, from 1.3 inches to 2 inches. Data shows us that most of the accumulating snow that we see in March falls in the first half of the month.
